Trail Running Victoria - Trailsplus

After a successful 2018 Launch we are expecting the 2019 event to reach capacity soon after entries open. The location and trails limit the number of participants we will allow to ensure maximum enjoyment is gained from the experience at Wonderfalls Trail Run. We are working on two options which include wave starts and a section of wider trail to run before the single track.

Saturday 31st August 2019

5km+,  13km,  25km,  42.2km  52km

When running in pristine locations like Wonderfalls trails in Lorne Victoria we are often at the mercy of the weather, this can vary our courses slightly at times and may mean something a little longer than planned is in store for you.
Distances will always be at least the amount advertised, the extra is free 😉

We are extremely excited to be bringing trail runners an adventure to remember.  Wonderfalls is not just a trail run, it is an experience and an adventure.  To best capture the event in its fulness we host it from the Cumberland River Holiday Park in Lorne. Accomodation on the start line.  Hot showers or cold rivers, which ever takes your fancy are just part of the amenities on hand. The course is set in the mountains at the back of Lorne and previously known as the "HellRun" our new "WONDERFALLS Trail Run" will rock your socks off, quite possibly literally. Between 75 - 100% single trails, up to 6 waterfall visits, fast flowing tracks and gorgeous single trails every trail runners dream, and at times the mud just might remove your socks and shoes. Shallow river crossings are also a feature, so good balance or wet feet await you.

The start location is the  CUMBERLAND RIVER HOLIDAY PARK located about 6km past Lorne on the Great Ocean Road. A fantastic amphitheatre is the setting for the start finish area. Various accommodation options available right on the start line, check out the details below.

Surf Coast Wonderfalls Trail Run (formally Hell Run) is the newest mountain trail run on the Trailsplus calendar. Similar location, New Start Line at Cumberland River Holiday Park and awesome new single trails, visiting up to 6 waterfalls for the longer distances.

The course is set in the majestic mountains at the back of the Seaside coastal town of Lorne along the great ocean road. It offers incredibly beautiful scenic mountain trails with challenging yet amazing beautiful single trails.

The  event will consist of  5km, 12km, a 25km, a 42.2km and a 52km races. Distances vary due to course conditions and restrictions based around runner safety, the start of all distances includes 3 river crossings in 2km, depths vary from ankle to knee, if deeper start line may move to Sheoak Picnic Area and use Course Set-B, just as awesome though.

Access to the start area couldn't be simpler, located just outside your cabin and or campsite door at the Cumberland River Holiday Park for those who choose to stay there. We encourage all to stay and be a part of the pre and post event atmosphere. If in the event of heavy rain and our river crossings cant be managed safely we will invoke our PLAN - B which will involve bussing participants to the Sheoaks picnic area. If the SHUTTLE BUS is required there is a $10 fee payable to the bus driver, this is not included in your race entry fee, as we hope the weather does not see us requiring the buses and an alternate start location.

Note that this event is held on Saturday.  This is different then most Trailsplus events, which are usually on a Sunday. This may give competitors the opportunity to race on Saturday, then stay overnight in the area and enjoy a family day on Sunday.
