River Trail Reopens from 2018

Below are the maps for each of the events. Please study them carefully. The courses will be well marked, but we cannot guarantee against people interfering with the markings. (This has occurred at events in the past!)  Please know your course, particularly if you are running one of the longer events. We return to the river trail for sections of the 21.1, 42.2 & 50km events. While we have kept the Horseshoe Bend Farm trails as part of the Marathon and Ultra Course

2km Course

The 2km course is a picturesque run starting at the cafe on a sealed path and crossing the river onto a dirt trail loop around the wetlands of Taylors Creek. Before heading back over the same river crossing, take left then right, pass by Dodds cottage and up to the finish line.

5km Course

The 5km course will cross the cobblestone bridge over the river onto dirt trails and including a short but challenging hill before returning across the river at the waterfall then complete a loop and back to the finish line.

10km Course

The 10km (covers the 5km course first) it will cross the cobblestone bridge over the river onto dirt trails and including a short but challenging hill before returning across the river at the waterfall then complete a loop out and back then on toward the cafe and continuing onto the lower river trail before making a steady climb to the escarpment, winding around and crossing the entry road ( perform a 200m out and back loop from the aid station, then descend the winding hill and head for the the finish line.

21.1 km Half Marathon Course

The half marathon course, starts at the cafe, heads toward Dodds cottage for 50M, makes a sharp right down the hill toward the waterfall river crossing but turns left onto the lower river trail. Follow the river trail around past car park C, then turn right onto the dirt river trail. Remain on the river trail all the way to Canning reserve 11km. (ALWAYS) keeping the river to your right. You will pass under the Whitten Bridge, the Old Railway Bridge (5km) and closer to Canning reserve you will pass under the pipe bridge then Maribyrnong road bridge and arrive at the rotunda Aid Station at Canning Reserve. Grab a drink and retrace your steps back to Brimbank Park and follow signs to the finish.
