We hope you can allocate some spare time after your run to remain around as long as possible to be part of the presentation processes, relax and enjoy the Park BBQ facilities. Last race we had some great spot prizes and hope to have more for Brimbank.

If you have performed well and are a podium finisher, please allow time to attend the presentation and receive your trophy. Each winner not only receives a trophy but also other prizes, you have to be present to receive these additional prizes.

(A) Yes, ALL finishers receive a custom designed medal.

(A) No, road runners are perfectly fine for the Urban Park Trails - though RocBloc gaiters are highly recommended.

(A) Yes, but please refer to refund policy details, there are time limits.

(Q) Is there an age limit to competing in the event?

(A) Yes, runners must be 16 to compete in the 21K (with parent approval), and 18 for the 42K & 50K event.  This is a rewuirement of our insurance. Shorter distances are open to all ages. Where children are very young we encourage parent supervision during the participation of the race.

Event Distances

This event consists of six events, the 2km, 5km, 10km, 21km, 42km and 50km.

On Course Support and Aid

There will be several AID STATION locations on course.  The start/finish area will also provide an AID STATION, including a massage recovery section when provider schedule permits.

For the safety of all participants, please notify the race director, registration staff or timing staff of your intention to withdraw from the event.

All events of this nature carry elements of risk, it is the responsibility of all participants to conduct themselves in a safe manner and if required help other participants if injured or in need of assistance. Conditions can vary quickly with the most likely problem being exposure to the weather. All participants should have suitable clothing as the conditions are likely to be cool and wet at times.

If a participant becomes injured or incapacitated,
other participants MUST assist them until other help arrives.

No rubbish to be left on the course. Please place all items, no matter how small, in pockets for depositing in bins at aid stations.
To ensure the ongoing support of City of Brimbank and Parks Victoria, ensure you leave NO RUBBISH on the course.

Public and Other PARK USERS

The ability to continue holding the Brimbank Park Trail Run very much depends on how we, as users, conduct ourselves on the course. It is highly likely that you will come across many obstacles including runners, walkers, cyclists and general park users. Please be respectful and make your way around them as they have equal rights to the public park. There will be dogs on long leads too and we understand it can be frustrating, but it is imperative that we do not say or do anything that could bring about a complaint from the public. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Participants should note that public liability insurance exists for this event. However it does not cover individual medical or accident costs. This remains the responsibility of the individual.  It is highly recommended that your ambulance cover is up to date. By entering the event you agree to relinquish all claims against the event organiser and support people.

Electronic Timing

The race organisors are using an electronic timing system.  To ensure accurate detection of your number make sure your race bib is on the upper-front of your torso - not behind you, not on your leg.  It will work very reliably if you do this.

Course Notes

It is the responsibility of the competitor to know the course and to remain on the course. Refer to the Maps provided.  Some course marking will be provided to direct runners and marshals will provide directions at some points.  Failure to follow directions and remain on course may result in disqualification.

PLEASE understand and be very CLEAR on our incorrect course policy.

Whilst we make every effort to mark the course clearly there is always a possibility that the general public may tamper with the markings. Trail runs do not have direction marshals on every corner, therefore it is your responsibility to know the course, read the signs and or carry a map especially for the longer distances. Study the course, especially if you are fast and may place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. We will not entertain excuses and reasons and made up distances due to your error. You must follow the correct course, if you know you did something incorrect then you must fix it. Event organisers decision is final. Know your course, follow it, if in doubt refer to your map, happy running.

Car Parking

There are 3 carparks available within the park: 200m, 500m and 900m from the start/finish area.  Please park considerately to maximise car parking availability and out of respect for other park users.

Refunds are available up to 30 days prior to entries closing. Your refund will be  transferred to your BSB/account or to the credit card used to pay, less a 50% admininstration fee.
There are no refunds within 30 days of event.

During Trailsplus events we take photos and some video. This information may be made available for publication on websites or paper media. By participating, you acknowledge and give permission for any images and commentary to be used by Trailsplus and/or their partners.

By participating, the competitor declares

  • to be trained, fit and injury free.
  • to present no risk to themselves or others by participating in this event
  • if they become unwell or injured they will withdraw from the event
  • they acknowledge that distance and trail running carries risks including weather, trip hazards, hydration, hyperthermia and rough surfaces and that they are aware of these risks, along with others, and take full responsibility for their own actions
  • if during the event they feel unwell they will withdraw and seek medical attention
  • they understand and acknowledge the risks and waive all claims against all parties involved in organising the event

Due to the nature, location and weather conditions often present at trail running events, forces outside the control of the event organisers and land owners may force the event to be cancelled or postponed. Cancellation could be as late as the morning of the event or possibly during the event if conditions dictate such action. If the event is cancelled before the event the race organisers will work with the authorities to try and reschedule the event. If a date can not be suitably found the event will be deemed cancelled for that calendar year. NO REFUNDS will be issued for late cancellation or postponement of event.
